why does wordpress say my gmail account is already in use?

    Hi, I am a UNM student and I have to use your site this semester for a class. I want to link WordPress to my gmail account rather than my school email. (gmail actually pulls from my school email but not always) The account settings page is telling me that my gmail account((email visible only to moderators and staff)) is already in use. This must be a mistake, because I have had this email adress for many years. Please advise, and thank you. Cullen

    Hi,
    Is it possible that you signed up for a WordPress.com account some time ago and forgot about it? If you enter your gmail email address in the password recovery page form, the login info for the account should be sent to you: https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
