why does WP say I need to login, when I’m clearly logged in?
-
There is a particular WP blog I would like to leave a comment on. When I go to do so, I get a WO page that says “you must be logged in to leave a comment”. OK, never mind that I WAS logged in, I go to do it again. I login successfully, but as soon as I click to comment on that blog, I get the same message over and over and over.
I thought maybe I had to be registered with that site in order to post a comment, but I am never even given an option to fill out any information to send to the website. Just WP telling me to login.
What is going on, and how do I post to this site?

What is the URL of the blog you are trying to comment on?
If it is a wordpress.COM blog, then log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again.
If it is a self-hosted blog using the software downloaded from wordpress.ORG, then it is a different thing and not connected with wordpress.COM so you would have to be registered on that particular blog.

Ah, thanks. It is the latter. Strange that it’s so hard to see where to register on the site, but I read the small print and scrounged up a mention. Thanks!

You’re welcome. Also, there is a link at the top left of your dashboard when you are in the admin areas of your blog that will take you to the wordpress.org forums (to the right of log out and help.
