Why doesn't my blog appear on computer after successful software download?

I posted my first blog on Word Press and subsequently successfully downloaded Microsoft Web Matrix, but my blog does not appear, when MS Web Matrix pulls up my site. How do I find it or make it appear?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your site is hosted on WordPress.com. We do not have ftp access or any ability to edit php of our sites. Your microsoft web matrix won’t work on this platform. You may be able to use it with wp.ORG.

At any rate, your site http://fostersite.wordpress.com/ is live and online now!

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

I have no idea what Microsoft Web Matrix is, so I can’t help you with that.

    Here is your blog http://fostersite.wordpress.com/

Here is your first post. http://fostersite.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/grand-canyon-rim-to-river-back-run/

I vaguely remember getting some message that I had to download that MS bundle to have the editing tools for Word Press. Originally, I was trying to delete or disable the default “Uncategorized” label on my website. I was also trying to figure out how to wrap text around photos.
Thanks to both of you 1tess and raincoaster,

    http://support.wordpress.com/

Those are the support documents for your WordPress.com site. Most of the stuff you see elsewhere on the web is for WordPress.ORG blogs, which operate differently. Do not pay attention to it.

You will not be able to get rid of the Uncategorized category until you have selected a different category, in which there is at least one post, for your default.

You can’t have text on BOTH sides of a photo, but if you align the photo left or right text will wrap around it, provided there is enough room.

No, you cannot have text to the left and right of an image using only image alignment code.

You could do it with table html coding in the text editor though. If you need help with the code, please post in this thread; describe specifically what you want.

Setting a default category to get rid of “uncategorized” as the default category:
dashboard—>settings—>default post category—>scroll down to “save changes”
Note: as raincoaster said, the posts assigned to your chosen categories must be published before cats will appear in a widget.

Both of you are terrific. Thanks again!
