why doesn't my child page show up as a drop down under the parent?

I setup child pages but they don’t show up as a drop down under the parent – they just show up as another parent. What am I doing wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your site is using a custom menu — that custom menu overrides any parent/child page relationships and shows the menu items exactly as you’ve set them up in that custom menu, instead.
You can set up a dropdown menu by editing your custom menu (on the Menus page, or under Appearance > Menus in your WP Admin dashboard). You can make your pages sub-menu items to set up a dropdown menu with those items in it.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

I am using the Motif theme. I see the menu page but there isn’t any sub-menu’s that show up. Hmmm…not sure what to do. Very frustrating.

UPDATE! I watched a You Tube video and I figured out my problem. It’s very subtle but it made all the difference. Thanks!

I’m glad you were able to sort it out! Please let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)

prairiepondpublishing, if you can find it again, would you mind replying here with the link to the YouTube video? I’d love to take a look at it.

designsimply, so sorry – unfortunately it was a couple of nights ago and now I don’t remember what it was called nor can I find it. There are lots of YouTube videos out there but the one I watch was helpful.
