Why doesn't my comment register on WordPress.com News on the Eighties theme?

  My comment has not been received on WordPress.com News feature on the Eighties theme. Instead, it has been displaying a strange sign that says “You comment is awaiting moderation.” This does not happen on editor blogs, supposedlt. Also I can’t click on the gravatar of any commenter, just their blogs. Many things aren’t functioning, in other words.

  Hi,

  The message “Your comment is awaiting moderation.” means that your comment has to be manually read and approved by the moderator of the site that you commented on.

  Whether a site automatically approves comments or needs to have comments be manually approved is up to the administrators of the site.

  The name of the commenter usually links to their blogs. Like, for example, on this page, if you click my name, it will go to my blog, not to my Gravatar profile.

  Well, what I meant was that the Daily Post never restricts comments because I always leave comments on editors blogs. I think the problem has been fixed though.

  Thanks for replying honeysilvas, but my problem isn’t with the names of the commenters as I always see their blogs by clicking on their names. My problem is really the Gravatar picture which should link me to people’s Gravatar profile. Like I can’t click on your picture to see your profile because it doesn’t work, and it used to work. That’s still a problem.

  Hi,

  The owner of the blog can set the blog to show the Gravatar profile by checking the box next to Gravatar Hovercards:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#avatars
  They can also disable it there by unchecking it. It just depends on what their setting is.
