Why doesn’t my custom style header upload??

    I tried many times but cannot upload my .jpg or .gif image file onto wordpress as my custom style header. I am using the theme that allows for custom style header, but the image does not appear although I am taken to the “crop image” page… On that page I don’t see anything, only gray. Can anyone help with this? I looked in the forums but couldn’t find a solution.
