Why doesn't the GoodReads widget show?

  I’ve added the GoodReads widget onto Sidebar 1 (following the intructions) but it doesn’t show on my blog. The theme I’m using is Oulipo, perhaps the widget doesn’t work on this specific theme? If you know anything about this glitch I’d love to know. Cheers!

  Hmm that is interesting, did you make sure you pressed save after you put your ID in? Did you perhaps change the visibility settings of the widget? Is the widget showing in Sidebar 1 on your widget page?

  Thanks for answering. It does show on the widget page Sidebar normally and everything seems to be in order – it just doesn’t display on the actual blog. I’m a little puzzled by the visibility settings in general though. I’ve tried pretty much every combination but I’m not making any sense out of the visibility options. Right now I’ve got it on Show if Category is All category page (to no avail). Any idea what’s going on?

  Well, to get it to show on all pages/posts/front page you don’t need any visibility ‘rules’. So you can delete those if you wish. If that doesn’t fix it we’ll need staff assistance, unless someone else had any ideas.

  I took a look and everything is working properly.

  Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Internet Explorer?

  Interesting, I looked on Firefox on my computer, and now again on my Android phone, but it isn’t showing, yet I’ve seen it on other WordPress.com blogs.

  I can’t believe it. As soon as I deleted the Visibility settings, it worked. It never occured to me that they could be deleted… How silly of me. Thank you very much indeed for your help!! :)

  kardotim, thanks for your answer too. And it seems I spoke too soon. Before I deleted the visibility settings as danielisreading suggested, the widget wouldn’t show on my blog on any browser. Now that I deleted the settings, my blog shows in its sidebar that the widget is there, but it’s like it isn’t loading properly. This happens both on Firefox (which I’m using now) and my Android phone. Can you guys make any sense out of that?

  Randomly enough it seems to work flawlessly on Internet Explorer.

  Nevermind that – it works now on Firefox too. The lagging must have been due to a very slow computer here at my end. Thanks both of you very much again! Until the next crisis :)
