Why doesn’t the menue appear at the first page?

  • Unknown's avatar

I use the ChaoticSoul theme for my blog. This template has a whrite-hand-side menue. For some reason the menue doesn’t show directly at the first page. Instead you have to scroll down the whole page to see it. Why is this? What can I do to make the menue to always stay visible to the whrite?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we get a link to your blog, starting with http?

    Hi,
    The link is http://www.noelhook.se
I believe the problem is in the first post “Min ankomst” (in Swedish), since the text seems to have expanded out of margins in that section. No idea why! I could perhaps delete the entire post and just try to create a new one. TBut I guess that this new post will not then remain as the first post (in chronological order), but rather be placed on top (seen as published today). Or?

You can always change the date/time of the blog post after you edit or publish it. Do that on the right-hand side of the Post box.

And take a look through here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/sidebar

It looks to me like you’ve pasted from elsewhere and will have some messy code to clean up OR one of your images is just too wide and you’ll have to narrow it down.

Thanks for your help! I will test your tips and read through how other people have solved this problem. What is the easiest way to see if an image is too wide?

Since it’s only the one post, go to Edit it, go to the largest image, and shrink it. Then update and see what happens.

@noelhook: Go to the post editor for “Mina första veckor som stockholmare”, switch to html and remove the extra div tag you have at the end (along with its brackets).

In other posts I can see you’ve been pasting from Word – you should never do that:

    Why not to use Word

If you need to format your posts outside the blog editor, use Windows Live Writer. If you do have to paste from Word, do it via the “Paste from Word” or the “Paste as Plain Text” buttons.
