Why Doesn't the Published Bullet Indent Match the Editor Screen?
-
Hi WP Staff,
I am using the Twenty Sixteen template. When I create or edit a blog post, I noticed that the published bullet indent does not match the editor screen. The editor shows the proper indenting you’d expect on a bulleted list, but the preview and the published view have the bullets listing to left of the regular text’s indent. Is there something wrong with my template instance? Is there a way to fix the CSS so all the pages publish and display like they show in the editor view/screen?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, also having the same issue with the Edin template. All the bullets appear the same on the published screen, but they have hierarchy in the editor screen!

Twenty Sixteen is designed with “outdented” bullets – it’s part of the theme’s design.
You could change that style with Custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plans.
The editor is not a reflection of what a theme will look like on the front end (public side) – its styles look the same, no matter what theme is used.
If an indented style is important to you and you’re not ready to upgrade, you can flip to HTML/Text view and edit the unordered list tag to something like:
<ul style="margin-left:20px;">…varying the pixel value depending on how much indentation you’d like.
