Why doesn't Word Press accept the code I have copied from my Facebook account to
-
I keep copying and pasting the code found on my Facebook account for creating a Profile Badge but every time I try and save the code it disappears from the box once I hit save. What is going on?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
See here for the Facebook badge guide that you can use http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-badge/

Right, I went to the first page and did what they said. I copied the code found on my FB page and I keep putting it into the box on Word Press and as soon as I press save the code disappears.

There are code restrictions on free hosted WordPress.com blogs http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ and as you can see by using the restricted code form Facebook instead of the one I linked to above the software strips the code out. Stop using it. Use this please http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-badge/
-
For security reasons, not all codes are accepted here. The FB badge code though has worked for a couple of years at least. Maybe they changed it? Please paste it here between backticks so it displays and we can analyze it.

Here is the code which I get from the profile badges page for my Facebook account:
<!– Facebook Badge START –>Christopher Pawelski
<img src=”https://badge.facebook.com/badge/1622310410.3411.1562713872.png” style=”border: 0px;” />

Create Your Badge<!– Facebook Badge END –> -
I am putting the whole code in but when I hit submit much of it is disappearing. What you see above is a fraction of the code.
-
You can post the code form Facebook until the cows come home. It will not work. You can only use this on a free hosted WordPress.com blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-badge/

Maybe I’m a bit dense timethief but I am going to this page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-badge/
and I am going to my Facebook badge page, copying the text, putting it in the box like the page says, and when I press save it disappears.
Help!
-
Okay, your link above, which I have been going to from the start, says:
“Visit the Facebook Profile Badges page, and select the information you would like to display on your badge by clicking Edit this badge and Save.
Next, click Other to get your badge HTML code:”
Okay, I do that. Next, the webpage sys:
“Copy the HTML code and paste it into a text widget on your blog.”
And I do that, I paste the code I have copied into my Word Press blog widget box that I ma supposed to. I am doing exactly what the website says to do. And when I try to save the code disappears.
What am I doing wrong?

Finally figured out what a back tick is … sorry about that.
Thanks for trying Timethief. I appreciate the effort!

Okay, thanks. There’s nothing in that code that should be stripped out normally, so I have to ask where are you putting the code? It should work in a text widget OR in a Post, provided the Post is on the Text editor and not the Visual editor.
-
Hey raincoaster,
I am putting it in the widget box on my Word press page. If that is the wrong place, where should I put it? The instructions say to paste it in a text widget on my blog. What text widget?
-
Ah, I puled in the text widget, put it in there, and now I see it. It is so small, but it is visible!
