Why don't followers appear on Email Followers List and receive notices?

  Some people have tried to subscribe to receive new posts on my blog via email but their email does not show up on my list of email followers and they do not receive notices of new posts.
  – 12 hours ago I even received an email that said someone new was now following my blog but no new email address appeared in my list of email followers. I have refreshed the list page many times but there is no new address.
  – Last night a friend tried to subscribe to follow my blog, she clicked on the confirm button in the email she received to confirm her subscription but her email address also never appeared in my list of email followers.

  Several other friends have told me they tried to subscribe in the past few weeks but they are not on my list and they have never received emails. What can I do?

  I posted this on a forum but was told this is a question for support.

  Regarding the email that you received, it’s possible that your new blog follower is following via the WordPress.com Reader, rather than via email. You would see this change under your WordPress.com Followers list.

  For your friend who subscribed, but isn’t appearing in your list of subscribers, would it be possible for you to send us her email address via a private ticket? That will help us take a closer look for you.
