Why don't I have a plug ins option in my appearance tab?

  Hey there.
  There is not a plug in theme in my appearance tab.
  A friend of mine who turn me on to WordPress had a plugins tab where he was able to add image galleries.
  Why is mine different?

  We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org:
  http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

  However, we do have some really cool widgets. Perhaps one of those might meet your needs?
