Why don't I have access to widgets and custom design through wp-admin?

I have moved my blogg to Hostgator and access WordPress through wp-admin.
There are a lot of things that are not available to me now, like for example half of the widgets (that I see if I log on directly to WP.com). For example I want the widget that allows me to insert an image into the side bar, but it’s not there anymore.
Neither do I have the Custom Design window that was promised at the upgrading.
    Why is this?
    Best regard,
    David

    Hi there,

If you are logging in to your account here at WordPress.com (so certusexecutives.com/wp-admin) then you should be able to access your widgets and the Custom Design menu.

If you have created a new WordPress.org blog at Host Gator however, then your interface will be a bit different. You will not have nearly as many widgets, and you may not yet have the option for an Image widget there. You can however add it by installing the Jetpack plugin, which will add that functionality to your widgets. You can read more about the Jetpack plugin here:
