Why don't I receive pingbacks?

    I often don’t receive pingbacks, although my blog gets linked on other blogs. (I know that because I often participate in blog challenges) I checked all of my settings and made sure that pingbacks and trackbacks are allowed. Do you have any idea why it works sometimes and other times it doesn’t????
