Why don't my comments on other blogs show up?

Hi. Today, when I visited other blogs I was unable to leave a comment. I tried a few times on several different blogs but each time my comment didn’t show up. This has not happened before but happened all day today. This is very frustrating. I was logged in to my blog at all times. Please advise, many thanks. I registered my own domain as sherrimatthewsblog.com recently and haven’t had any problems until this.

Hi Sherri,
Thank you for providing this additional information. Can you please contact Akismet directly about this issue? You can type “spam” in the text field, and then fill out the form that appears underneath, choosing “I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake” from the selections:

Hi Rachel. I have emailed Akismet but I have not had a reply. I’m not sure that they even received it. I don’t have a subscription to Akismet, do I need one? I am really frustrated by this problem as I am completely unable to interact with other blogs.

Hi Sherri, you don’t need a subscription to Akismet for your WordPress.com blog. The Akismet comment spam filter is built right in to WordPress.com. The Akismet support team will look into this issue for you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
