why don't photos appear on my home page with Columnist template

I am using the Columnist template, but my photos with each blog entry don’t show on the home page. When I go to the blog entry they are there, but not on the HOME page as the example shows. Is there something wrong with a setting?

Sorry, I have two blogs- the one you saw must not be the correct template. The template is what I use on Sole Sister–ShoesUchoose.

Hey there,
For images to appear on the home page of the blog in question, you will need to specify the desired image as a featured image.
The “featured images” section in the theme description has a bit more information about how specific featured images will be displayed, depending on their size.
