Basically at first nbsp; works, but save the post in the HTML editor and then switch to visual and then to html back and forth a few times and it gets deleted.

Yes, that’s why I said you shouldn’t switch. You should probably do your line breaks last in the HTML editor tab (when you’re done with everything else), then save, as switching to the Visual tab seems to remove them.

then didnt switch to the visual tab as you said, then

This is the tag that you already had working.
Just add it for each line break in the HTML editor, do not switch to the Visual editor, and save.

But then the next question is:
1) Will I have to input the code “nbsp;” in the HTML editor until the day I die, for tens and tens of years or is there a way to make it so that I can use the Visual editor and just use the normal enter to make line spaces.

It also doesn’t cut it that I I have to do the line spacing as the last thing as I am gonna deal with this website for years perhaps?
And user experience and comfort matters.People who want to write a blog don’t want to write a post and then manually enter nbsp; in HTML for every blank line that they want to create for 10 years.

The Visual editor may support multiple spaces some day, but it’s a third-party tool, so we don’t really have that much control over it.
For now, I recommend just adding your line breaks last in the HTML editor tab (when you’re done with everything else), then save.

You can add single or double line breaks in the Visual editor without issue, which seems to suite most of the 37 million users here.
Anything more than a double line break will require the extra work in the HTML editor tab for now.

I don’t understand how line spacing in the visual editor worked for me for the first few days of making the blog, and then suddenly stopped working?

I think that wordpress should take control of this kind of a thing like apple does, even if it’s a third party application.
Because this kind of an important issue can totally ruin the customer experience 100%.
Almost every other blogging platform allows line spacing in a decent way without having to deal with code so why wordpress cannot do it? I am sure that wordpress can do it too.
It seems like a small thing, but It’s actually an extremely important issue for customers

And think about it,
what happens if you complete you post and add a “.” or something, add those line spaces manually in HTML and then suddenly want to edit, go to the visual editor and then ALL your spaces get deleted because you used the visual editor.
It is a bug that needs to be fixed.

If you need to edit the post, I recommend sticking to the HTML editor for now. The line breaks you added won’t disappear as long as you avoid the Visual editor tab.

Not saying that you won’t do it doesn’t mean that you will do it either…
I mean… guys you should seriously look into it and solve it no matter what. It’s a gravely important matter.
It’s already 2012 and people want to create decent websites without dealing with code for basic issues like line spacing.

And editing posts on this forum should also be enabled, because rewriting and posting every post from scratch because of a typo also ruins the customer experience.
IF there are 37 million users,
Then you would do those 37 million users a VERY BIG favour by enabling line spacing in the visual editor and post editing in the forum.
If there are so many users, then it is even more important to solve issues like line spacing.
Think about how much time it would save for everyone…
