Why don’t viewers visit my intro (first & sticky) page?
-
My stats show my Intro page almost unvisited, but that’s where my STOP PRESS is located.
Why are they visiting my nineteenth and last pages? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

user’s blog is http://jazzroc.wordpress.com/
Two reasons: one, your sticky page’s content is already on the front page of your blog. There’s no reason for anyone to click on it.
Two, most of your visitors are from search engines, so they’re going straight to other posts.

Thanks. I can’t see how I can do any more to redirect them, then.
My stats show almost NO hits for my front page, and my leading arguments.
Must this be so random?

I see what you mean, but no-one seems to be following my Stop Press, which certainly I would do if I were visiting a blog for a second time. I can see where this is going though! :)
Thanks for your reply. This is sometimes a lonely business… -
If they go directly to a post from a search engine, they might not click to go to your main page. It just depends on how interested they are.
The bulk of surfers spend less than 30 seconds on any particular site when they are surfing.

If they’ve been on your blog before, why would they ever want to read the same thing again and again? So, as tsp says, new readers are skipping it because they’re going directly to what they want, and regular readers have probably bookmarked your main page instead of the static page because they’ve already read it.

I never bookmark a static introductory page, I always bookmark the actual page I’m interested in.
