Why dont we have a choice about the new commentfield?
-
As few other wordpress users mentioned, we too dont quite agree with this new feature. We don’t want our blog to have any relation with companies like Twitter and Facebook, we have a whole different idea on how people should write and express themselves on the internet and that’s why we use WordPress only.
Maybe everyone likes to see the Twitter and Facebook logo everywhere, but we don’t. WordPress was free of advertisements and now its not. At least WordPress should give its users the right to choose if they want this new feature or not.
This is very important and it reflects on WordPress’s mentality. We completely understand why WordPress launched this feature and we are sure that millions of people are happy. But we simply don’t want anything to do with these 2 companies and we think that we should have the right to choose.
Thanks for all the great work.

I’m sorry you don’t like the new Facebook and Twitter comments feature, but at this time there is no way to turn off those options.
We do appreciate your feedback (we really do!), and will pass along the idea to turn off the Facebook and Twitter commenting options to the responsible team. Feedback from all of our users very truly helps us shape the future and features of WordPress.com.

Will WordPress make this feature optional or its going to be like this forever?
A week has passed and we still have no answer. We want our blog to be like before, ad-free!!! We want the logos of these 2 companies removed.
Please make it at least OPTIONAL! And please give us an answer on what the guys from WordPress are thinking about this.
We insist because we think its really importand. Thanks again for all the great work and for the interest you show.

We are considering ways to disable this. As this new commenting system is the gateway to some possibly upcoming features, disabling it all together may not be an option, but we are considering offering an option to disable the Facebook and Twitter options.
As for ads, we actually run them on all WordPress.com blogs, unless you purchase the No Ads upgrade, but they may not appear for you if you’re logged in.

Thanks for your response.
Offering an option to disable the Facebook and Twitter options is exactly what we are asking. As said above we understand why this feature was launched. What we dont understand and don’t agree with, is the fact that this feature was imposed on everyone without previous warning and without a show or hide option. You should consider this for the upcoming features.
As for ads, i don’t understand exactly what you mean. FB and Twitter logos are the first to appear in our blog, never seen any other ad. And if using whosamongus or youtube goes in the same category, at least we choose if and when to use them.
We do think that these logos are a kind of an ad, because it does encourage people to use this platforms, which are multimillion worth companies. The logo and the brand name of a company are the subjects and the ways of advertisement for companies at the same time. If we have reached a point where a company logo appears everywhere and people who doesn’t like that cant do anything about it, then we can clearly talk about an Internet dictatorship.
Making it optional is the right thing to do. Simple [in a mentality way not technical, you know better about that :) ] and works for everyone.
