why don't widgets in secondary widget area show in sidebar in twenty thirteen?

Widgets placed in the secondary widget area displaying in main widget area rather than in sidebar. I would like to know how to get them in the sidebar.

Yes, and it says that widgets will show up in sidebar if placed in secondary widget area (the secondary widget area also states that it will show up in sidebar). This is also happening to sites I used in the past that used to have the widgets in sidebar. All those widgets now display at the bottom even though they are in secondary widget area.

Hi there – did you manage to get this sorted out? I’m seeing the widgets in your Secondary Sidebar Area in the sidebar:
On what type of device and at what browser window size are you seeing the sidebar widgets in the footer? (If you’re not sure what size your browser window is, you can check here: http://supportdetails.com/ )
The way this responsive theme works is that when the browser window is less than 1000px wide, the sidebar widgets move to the bottom of the screen.

I didn’t sort this out, but the sidebar is working today. I didn’t change browser size or anything–just seems to be okay now. I’m using Chrome. If it happens again (or happens to my students who will be accessing the site) I’ll let them know about the sidebar size issue.
