why embed swf is dangerous ?

Why I can’t embed swf directly in my articles ?
Flash it’s not like java script or applets. It works in a tiny sand box. There’s no file access.
Why flash is dangerous for you ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Flash has been responsible for a lot of issues, and with this being a multi-user platform, any bad code introduced by one user could possibly bring down the whole system. Besides, how is wordpress supposed to know the code you are wanting to use is safe and secure? There is a ton of very badly written flash out there.

The other issue is what some of the security vulnerabilities can do to a poor unsuspecting visitor to a site. This is one from this year (my emphasis):

This universal cross-site scripting vulnerability (CVE-2011-2107) could be used to take actions on a user’s behalf on any website or webmail provider, if the user visits a malicious website. There are reports that this vulnerability is being exploited in the wild in active targeted attacks designed to trick the user into clicking on a malicious link delivered in an email message.

There have been 8 major security vulnerabilities so far this year with Flash, and the year isn’t over yet.

    Oh ?!
    Thanks
    It’s mysteriously too slow
It’s great to put a music player or a calendar but I won’t embed my flash games with that widget.
    Thanks anyway

“That widget”? That’s a method, not a widget: it allows you to embed any flash object (provided it’s uploaded and stored somewhere).
