Why get my own comments spam? And why cant I comment??? have I done something wrong???

it’s a common thing that happens. check your akismet folder in comments through dashboard, you may find your comments. remove it from akismet so that it will learn you’re not spam and hopefully it won’t happen.

No mark and sulz, it doesen´t work. I can´t leave a comment at my friends blogs, and my own commets get back to me as spam.
Please help me out, feels a lillebit lonley when I can´t comunicate -
Mark When I locked att akisment, it says that I have one akismet. But I have non. Jag have removed all of them.
Something is wrong. Great if you can help me out -

Can we please stop saying that it’s a common problem? It’s not.
You’re also not seeing what Mark and other staff members are seeing. There may be a very good reason why some folk’s comments are marked as spam.

that was the impression i get from the many threads related to this issue. even mark did not expect the problem to have lasted as long as it did.
also, i did not meant this as an offhanded remark. i wanted to reassure that she probably did not do anything wrong.

Dr Mike, we get posts like this daily. How frequently does something have to happen for us to say that it’s common? Besides, when it happens to you for the first time, it freaks you out and you are really worried. By letting the bloggers know that we’ve seen this many times before and it gets resolved, we can relieve their anxiety. Nothing is gained by pretending this is rare.

What’s I’m saying is that in some cases, the system may be working correctly by calling the comment spam. Calling it a ‘problem’ is incorrect as we’re not in a position to see why it is occuring.
We have folks coming is here asking about their ToS’ed blogs as well every so often and they go on about how their posts about MLM and affliate schemes are white as driven snow. Is this also a common problem?
I agree with trying to calm folks. I just disagree with the ‘common problem’ label.

Okay here’s my two cents worth.
(1) IMO bloggers making queries about Akismet marking my own comments as spam should be immediately directed to http://akismet.com/contact/Reasoning: Volunteers cannot assist. We cannot see what’s going on and we do not have backend access in any event. When we blah, blah, blah and, in the end, send them to Mark, we simply delay the bloggers from getting staff attention promptly.
(2) IMO bloggers making queries about the stats plug-in should be immediately directed to contact staff.

Gotta admit that I disagree with all three.
1) Without going into too many details, I know the IP addresses that are leaving comments being marked as spam on my own wordpress and wpmu installs. Let’s just say I’m able to keep track. I also know what IP addresses we being my own hosting block at the routers as abusive.
Granted that I’m not akismet though and I can’t say for certain but usually since I can see an IP address here, I can do my own lookup and usually do a judgement call.
Again I don’t have access to akismet’s record and I may be wrong but usually I can take a pretty good guess. There’s good reasons why I block 1-2 million connections every day from my boxes.
This is also why i usually ask for links to comments that were caught as sometimes we can see an issue with what’s being written.
2) The stats plugin is a toss up and I’ll take a shot as we can give an answer or not. Gotta admit that with my own clients, it’s not being used much. The offsiteness of the stats has caused issues with some folks. I persoanlly was hoping to see the stats added into the botd and tag system but, since it’s not, I’d rather use awstats myself.
3) Disagree as half the time, it’s the outbound blocked port 80 that’s causing the issue. Either that or the email address is not know to the wordpress install and that’s the issue.

Well then, I have something to say about that too.
Moderators with Staff privileges
We are all volunteers here Moderators and bloggers alike. The fact that wordpress gives you and presumably trent too the ability to view our IP’s even though you are not on staff is IMO questionable business behaviour.If wordpress wants to give Moderators technical aides that’s fine with me, provided they put them on staff. I also feel the same way about lists of bloggers and their blog url’s being given to anyone who is not on staff – it’s questionable business behaviour.
Time wasted – Not much gained.
Making the posting party wait, until you are online, is an unnecessary delay that does nothing to solve the blogger’s problem. And the fact that you have a hosting company and access to information about abusive IP’s is not “key” to solving the problem at all because these problems are not solved on the forum. In the end, the bloggers still have to be directed go to Mark.Taking a shot at answering stats questions – another time waster
I’ve been here long enough to know what to post to the forum and when it’s necessary to see what I post go up and down the front page of the forum before I go to staff. Consequently, I don’t diddle around. If I ever have a problem like the 3 above I know that it can only be solved by staff. Consequently, I don’t post to the forum. I contact Mark. Unfortunately, other bloggers are not able to discern which matters can only be solved by staff so they endure “the run-around”. IMO that sucks.API’s

Akismet deals with at least 6 million spams a day.
Yes there may be some mistakes but for that to add up to 0.1% of users posting here would mean a huge number of posts in this forum. As with all issues we only get mistakes posted here so a sense of the overall perspective is important. (If you did something 6 million times a day at which point after how many errors would you reasonably expect it to be called ‘common’ ?) All people need to know is that it can be fixed and to use either of the contact forms.The API key + stats. They must be an admin on the blog that they key comes from. timethief – I had access to all the forum details at the wordpress.org forums. Mods and admins there have that information. It’s nothing secret and does help when giving advice. There is nothing questionable about it. I always made it very plain at the .org forums, codex and the mailing list what people could and could not do. There are no secrets here.
I wouldn’t post as you suggest in your last paragraph.
