Why has dashboard service been unavailable for several days?

Can’t connect to dashboard for any of my blogs after logging in to wordpress, and cannot connect/view any of my blogs. I have reset IE browser and installed Firefox with no change in outcome. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I am new to WordPress and have been having a ton of problems over the last week. I have sent a support note already. Are these types of problems common?
