Why has my domain transfer still not gone through after more than two weeks?

    My domain transfer to a web host where I am now running a self hosted version of my everettsprojects.com blog still hasn’t gone through. I did everything in the domain transfer instructions, including accepting the transfer on the wordpress.com side. After a while I got fed up and just pointed the domain to my new site using the nameservers, but this is not an optimal solution. I suspect that the hold up is on the part of your registrar, though I have opened a ticket with my external web hosting company as well just to be sure.

    Hi Everett,

    I’m sorry you’re having trouble. It looks like the domain transfer is still pending on our side, which means something is definitely up. Did you recently change the contact details on your domain? If so, that institutes a 60 day transfer lock on the domain where it cannot be transferred. The domain is not locked now, but if you started the transfer while it was locked, you would need to restart the process. Does that make sense?

    Would you mind following the instructions here one last time to restart the process (new authorization code, etc)?

    No, I haven’t updated the Whois info at all. I’ve requested a new EPP code, and my webhost has re-initiated the transfer. Hopefully it goes through this time.

    Okay, so the problem according to my web host is that the EPP code is being rejected as invalid. Repeating the process including re-locking and unlocking the domain does not seem to help me get a new code, they always just reissue the old one.

    Is there some way I can get your registrar to acknowledge the code they provided, or to reset the whole process to get a new EPP code that will work?
