Why has my old domain not been canceled and my new domain not been implemented?

  I canceled the domain http://www.spacegirltalks.org and was notified of the cancellation and refund, then I purchased the domain http://www.spacetalks.org. I know the domains take a day or so to process but it has now been several days and the domain spacegirltalks.org is still operational but the domain spacetalks.org is not. Did I do something wrong or did WordPress get confused?

  Hi there, your new domain spacetalks.org was not set as primary yet. I set is as primary under Store > Domains and you should see your site when you load your domain. (If you don’t, please try force refreshing your browser as described here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/)

  As for the canceled domain spacegirltalks.org, it is no longer associated with your WordPress.com blog. After a cancelation, the domain itself is sent back to the registrar. The registrar will decide when to release it back to the open market, which is not guaranteed but which usually happens within a few days.
