Why has the Visual Editor suddenly started proofreading?

  The Visual Editor has suddenly started proofreading and I can’t turn it off. I want no proofreading.

  Could you please check that all proofreading options are disabled in your settings, following this guide?

  Those options are all disabled.

  I discover the problem is more general. It’s not just the Visual Editor. I’m being proofread as I write this, here and now. And on Facebook too.

  It sounds like you may have installed a spellchecker in your web browser. You may want to check your browser add-ons and plugins and see if you find a spellchecker that’s been activated.

  Yes, this must be the explanation: there is a spellchecker in the browser – although I didn’t install it. I’ll try to find out how to turn it off. Thanks again!
