Why has WordPress deleted a blogpost
-
Yesterday there was a new blogpost
http://namawinelake.wordpress.com/2013/01/08/fitch-joins-moodys-in-predicting-further-major-declines-in-irish-property/This morning the blogpost disappeared COMPLETELY after it was linked to by a business website
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2013/01/09/1327613/further-reading-1182/When I say COMPLETELY, it isn’t even in my list of blogposts so that I can edit it. I re-posted it just now
http://namawinelake.wordpress.com/2013/01/09/fitch-joins-moodys-in-predicting-further-major-declines-in-irish-property/The media files used in the blogpost were intact and I didn’t need upload these again, but why the hell is WordPress deleting blogposts?
There is no evidence whatsoever of hacking though to be on the safe side, the password for the blog was changed.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
We’ve had a few reports from users whose blog posts are vanishing after they save them.
Could you give me a little more information?
Have you edited the post at all after it was published? Did you use the “back” button at all?
It looks like you were using Opera, is that right?
Where did you compose the post?
Thank you so much for the feedback, and I’m so sorry for the trouble!
-
Hi there, yes the blogpost would have been edited.
What seems to have happened is a new unconnected blogpost entirely replaced the original blogpost because the comments on the original now show on the entirely new unconnected blogpost. I am ABSOLUTELY SURE I didn’t overwrite the original or edit the original with the new unconnected blogpost.
Yes, I use Opera.
Not sure what you mean by “where did you compose the post” – bathroom?
Regards

Apologies for the interjection re:”where did you compose the post”Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add NewOr did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?

Thank you for clarification!
I created it on the dashboard of my own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New -

Thanks for getting that clarification, TT!
Thanks also, namawinelake on the additional information. It will help us as we target this. I’ll keep you in the loop as we find out more.

One last question – what was the URL of the unconnected post that overwrote the original post?
Cheers!

Sorry for delay with replying.
The original blogpost was
http://namawinelake.wordpress.com/2013/01/08/fitch-joins-moodys-in-predicting-further-major-declines-in-irish-property/The completely unconnected blogpost which seemingly overwrote it was
http://namawinelake.wordpress.com/2013/01/08/irelands-sovereign-wealth-fund-announces-investment-in-small-and-medium-sized-businesses/I created a copy of the original blogpost which is here (just a different date)
