Why have I been getting a Server Maintenance message for the last 5 or so hours?
-
I have been getting a server maintenance message for the last 5 hours or so when I try to make any changes to my blog. This includes adding new media, deleting files and updating old posts.
The message suggests waiting 5 minutes but this obviously hasn’t worked.
I checked the WordPress Status link and cleared my cache and cookies.
Could you let me know what the problem is and when I will be able to make updates to my blog please?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I took a look and everything is working properly.
Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

I have tried uploading more photos and of the 12 I uploaded 9 worked fine and 3 ‘wouldn’t crunch’ and http error appeared at the top of the page.
The error message I got the last time I tried updating a post (not the Server Maintenance error I’ve got most times) is:
‘Goshdarnit!
Something has gone wrong with our servers. It’s probably Matt’s fault.
We’ve just been notified of the problem.
Hopefully this should be fixed ASAP, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.’
Suggests something is wrong at the wordpress end.
I haven’t tried using other browsers but have always used Safari in the past for all of my blogging so don’t see how that is the issue.

Could you please try a different browser to see if you’re able to reproduce the issue there?
Thanks.

I have just got home from a day out and without trying a different browser I’m not having the issue now. Hopefully this means that WordPress sorted out whatever server issue they were having that their Error Message notified me (and them) of.
