Why have I not heard back?
-
As I wrote this morning, our Blog has suddenly started displaying a wordpress theme background image at the top of our page – this happened with no connection to any action taken by us. We have not posted anything or altered or touched anything.
This looks VERY unprofessional and is happening at a VERY poor time. I’m not having a good support experience with having only forums to turn to, where I see no mention of this issue anyway. The experience of our blog breaking and there being no response from wordpress support is not a good one.
I need this taken care of immediately and I need to know why this occurred.
thanks,
JP

@designsimply. Thanks. Understood. I got help on a forum board and was able to remove the image. However you might want to look at the message string. It appears that the problem randomly happens and some folks have had it happen numerous times. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpress-theme-jpg-has-suddenly-appeared?replies=11#post-607837
I removed the header image but now there is white space above “older posts” that didn’t used to be there. And suggestions on how to remove that?
thanks

I’ve checked the Twenty Ten theme and there have been no recent updates to it within the last three weeks.
I also checked your blog and the latest CSS change I see is to set the background image to http://atigeo.com/images/bgTexture_v1.jpg and increase the #masthead padding.
I see that you’ve also discussed some changes at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpress-theme-jpg-has-suddenly-appeared
I’m going to check in with macmanx about the CSS and the extra spacing at the top of your posts too. Hang tight.
With regard to things changing in themes, we do make updates to themes from time to time to fix errors and add new features when necessary. The theme team does try to make sure the impact is as minimal as possible, but on occasion, you may need to update Custom CSS after a change. We are constantly making revisions and pushing new code to WordPress.com. We make updates every day!
