Why have my blog followers disappeared?

  Until today I had 280+ blog followers, and now it is only showing that I have 37 followers (the only ones that remains are followers from Twitter). My WordPress.com Followers and Email Followers have disappeared and now stand at zero. Why has this happened? It takes a long time to build followers, and this is very disappointing. Thanks for any help you can give me!
