Why have my email followers disappeared?

  Hello!
  I noticed today that my “followers” count on my blog was down by about 20 followers. I went into my stats, and everyone who followed my blog via email was gone! I have friends and family members who receive email notifications when I have posted a new blog, but all of them are gone all of a sudden!
  What has happened?
