Why have my image widget captions disappeared?

    I’m using the old MistyLook theme for my blog.
    Today I noticed that the page tabs along the top do not display their titles, and are only visible in hover mode. I also have some image widgets in my sidebar with caption texts that have faded out, and do not appear normally even when hovering.

    I haven’t changed any of my settings — why have these display changes suddenly occurred?
