Why have my images stopped appearing in Facebook when I blog?

  When I blog, my link to Facebook has suddenly stopped transmitting the images to Facebook. The text moves over just fine but not the images. I checked the settings of the images and they have not changed from the ones that went over normally.

  Unfortunately, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.   I’m not sure that is what is happening. If it were, I’d expect the problem to occur spuriously. In this case, I had over a hundred images over as many weeks load without a problem. Now over the last couple of weeks I can’t get any images to go at all.
  Maybe this will help. Here is what I see on Facebook when I post a blog entitled “A New Image is Added (date)”:
  1. When it is working correctly, the image is there and next to it is the title, “A New Image is Added (04 28 13)”. Underneath the title is my WordPress address, “johnwhophoto.wordpress.com”
  2. What I see now is no image and instead of the post title is, “http://johnwhophoto.wordpress.com/2013/05/08/a-new-image-is-added-05-08-13/?fb_source=pubv1”. My WordPress address is underneath as usual.

  No, it doesn’t. Unfortunately, it’s Facebook’s doing as far as we can see. You’re not the only one affected by this recently, and it seems to sometimes happen and sometimes not. We can only hope they fix it.

  FYI – I just checked a friend’s Facebook and the posts in question never appeared on her feed, even though they show up (sans image) on my Facebook timeline.
