Why have my media images disappeared from several of my posts?

  Some time back, I went to my blog and discovered that all the media images had disappeared. I was told to empty my cache and cookies, which I did, to see if that helped. It did not. Eventually, WordPress Happiness folks remedied the situation except for a few items.

  This has happened again… And, again, I did the cookies and cache thing to no avail. I edited several of the posts out of existence but, since the images are gone out of my media library as well, I cannot do anything with the posts that I want to retain (and those images, too). Can you help me once again? Am I doing something to cause this?
