Why is a comment option not offered on a post?

  Up till now comments were invited. With my most recent post no comment option appears. Why is this and how do I fix it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there,

  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion

  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.   Thank you for your reply. The default settings on ‘Discussion’ is to allow all comments.
  The particular post ( the most recent) did not follow the default. I have now ‘fixed that to allow comments but I have no understanding of why it was necessary?
