Why is Adsense bannned?
-
I was reading the Advertising TOS and Copyright article. Apparently Adsense is banned. If we want to monetize our blog, AND if AdWords doesn’t accept our application, what are our other options?
I applied for that Adwords thing. If that doens’t work out am I stuck with no other advertising options?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have also been through the same thing @phoenix, and completely empathize with you. Originally I thought that it may have been because I was posting a few lines that inadvertently might have been copied from the Net. But even after checking and rechecking, I still didn’t get a Yes. By the way, this particular incident happened to me while on blogspot!

Is there ANYWAY to advertise? Is even CAFEPRESS banned?
I’m considering signing up to be an affiliate:

You have posted into multple threads on this forum and everyone reaveals that you did not read the Terms of Service or even the Domain Mapping – Important Notes Before Upgrading before your entered into the contract to upgrade. You got what you paid for and nothing more or less than what you paid for.If you do not wish to be constrained by the terms of the conrtracts you entered into, you can move your content and the domain elsewhere and even delete your current blog. Or you can request a refund for your domain mapping upgrade from your dashboard.

Moreover, you received an answer to your monetizing questions on April 24th > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/can-i-add-affliate-links-to-a-paid-for-registered-domain-blog?replies=6#post-871489

First off, I don’t thing wordpress is against anyone making some money off of their blogging, but…
1. WordPress already runs ads on blogs here (unless you buy the no ads upgrade) so you would be competing with them and that would now work out so well. The ad revenue wordpress makes off the ads help pay for all the costs to run this service and to keep the free things free.
2. Opening the doors with no control over ad content will immediately take this wordpress.com “low-rent” and it would be flooded with sploggers (spam bloggers). Blogspot fights “low rent” all the time given that they literally BEG people to put adsense on blogs there. At one point a couple years ago it was estimated that 50% to 70% of the blogs on blogspot were splogs. Blogspot has done quite a bit to clean things up, but it is still a problem over there from what I can see.
The inconvenient truth: The average blogger is going to make less than $100 per year in ad revenue and many of those people will end up spending more time trying to maximize their ad revenue than they do creating high quality content, or they end up shifting what they blog about to produce more ad revenue. I’ve actually watched this happen.
If you want to advertise freely, then you can self-host a wordpress.ORG installation. Figure an average of $10 to $25 per month, all costs considered, and then also keep the reality of things in mind that it is very likely you will not cover your expenses, and that it might take a couple years before you even come close.
