Why is advertising preventing clicking on a link on my blog?

  I appreciate all that wordpress.com has offered to the web community. I have several blogs on both wordpress.com and wordpress.org. I don’t mind the advertising links at all as it’s a great way to compensate all the work that has gone into WordPress.com. I do find it extremely frustrating, however, that when visiting my blog today, I tried to click on a link to a page on my blog that was within one of my posts. I could not access my page because every time I tried, it would instead take me to the advertisement. Very frustrating and more so knowing people visiting my blog would not be able to access the link but would instead be subject to repeat advertisements and would eventually give up and leave the site. I’m sorry to say as soon as I can, I will be converting all my blogs to wordpress.org. It was great while it lasted.

  Hi,

  Can you send me a link to the page where this is happened and/or a screenshot of it? Our ads should only be displaying in a way that doesn’t impact viewing of your site and we’d like to correct it if something is working unexpectedly.

  Thank you for your response! This is embarrassing, but hopefully will help someone else. Somehow my computer downloaded an ad-on malware called Fast Free Converter. I was able to disable it from my browsers and uninstall it from the computer altogether. Please accept my apologies to all at WordPress.com.

  I’m just happy you don’t see those annoying ads! Not all ads are bad, but bad ads are really bad.
