why is ALT text not showing in html

i am putting alt text in every image but when i view the html and the source it is showing nothing. why isn’t it pulling it through. it isn’t on the above website it is on another one.

Hi! I believe alt text is an attribute used solely for the purpose of a replacement, or description of the image, if the image cannot load or be seen.
Do you want to see text? If so, try putting your text in the title tag. It would then show when an image is hovered over. Or you could try including your text as a caption option.

This could be your theme or a plugin interfering with the default behaviour of the WordPress software.
Alt text, if added to an image, should always be visible when viewing the page source in the browser, or the browser’s dev-tools, as that text is used by both search engines and screen readers.
