Why is audio file attachment "title" not showing in post?
-
When I try to insert an uploaded audio file into a post, it does not recognize the audio “title” that I assign to it. Instead, it will gives me, for example: [audio http://rcsasouthernsuburbs.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/4_14_13-9_55-am.mp3%5D. I have not had this problem in the past. How can I get my specified title to show in the post, which users can click on to listen to the audio?
Thank you.

Hi there,
When you are inserting the audio file, are you wanting it to be available for download or for it to be listened to? If you want it to be listened to, you can still do so, you will just now need to put the title in yourself before the file like so:
This Week’s Sermon: [audio http://rcsasouthernsuburbs.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/4_14_13-9_55-am.mp3%5D

Hi,
Thanks for your response. I would like users to be able to download the audio file. What confuses me is that did not have a problem with inserting a title (link) on the first few uploads and inserts. Basically, I would like users to either listen to or download the audio by clicking on a title of my choice embedded in the post.
Thanks.

Hi there,
We recently upgraded some of our code in the uploader so that it automatically inserts your MP3 into the audio player.
You can still modify that to be a downloadable file quite easily. All you need to do is once the file is uploaded, copy the file name and then clear the audio player short code.
Then you can just type what you want the link to say such as “Download the Sermon by clicking here”. Highlight those words and then click the button that looks like two links of a chain (or the infinity symbol). That will bring up the link creation tool. Paste in the link to the audio file and then click OK. Your link has been created!
