why is awakeningstorylines deemed unsafe?

  I post links to my blog on Facebook. A number of folks are reporting that they get a message saying my wordpress site is unsafe, don’t go there, it’s dangerous. I, myself got that message today by trying one of my links in an email message. What causes that message to show up and how do I correct it? Thank you.

  Hey Deborah,

  Can you share a link where you’re receiving this message? It could be that your visitors are attempting to click on a link with an https prefix like:

  https://awakeningstorylines.com/2014/02/05/new-opportunities/

  This triggers a security error in many browsers because the security license that the browser sees is for the awakeningstorylines.wordpress.com address. However, the URL shows as awakeningstorylines.com. Currently, it isn’t possible to get an SSL certificate for awakeningstorylines.com through WordPress.com. So, the solution is to avoid using the https prefix.

  Let me know a link you’re having trouble with, and we can confirm!

  Jeremey, Thank you for that information. Using https:// would be the problem, I bet. Lately I’ve discovered that we no longer seem to need www so I just use the https.

  Is the cure then to return to using www instead?

  Hey Deborah,

  You could just use www. in front of the URL or you could just use the URL itself. For example, when I visit your site, I just enter this into my browser window:

  awakeningstorylines.com

  That’s working fine on my side. When entering a link into your site, use the following format:

  http://awakeningstorylines.com

  The “http://” should already be in the link field by default.
