why is delete key inoperable in “write post”

  It’s an inconvenience to not be able to use the delete key when I’m composing a blog entry.

  i have no problems with that button – i just deleted one post yesterday on my firefox. maybe you could try different browsers and see if you still have that problem.

  This is an intermittent problem for me. If I highlight a block of text, sometimes neither the delete nor the backspace key work. I have to backspace letter by letter to delete material.I use Firefox (Mac).

  Suspect that this is linked to the recent (I gather) update of TinyMCE (the rich-text editor used on wordpress.com) and you should submit feedback from your dashboard making TPTB (more) aware of the problem if they aren’t already.

  Thanks, everyone. I’ve submitted the problem via the feedback button in dashboard. I also use the latest version of Firefox.

  Sulz, I think you misunderstood. I have no problem deleting whole posts. It’s words within posts and the delete key not being functional that I’m describing (thought this was clear).

  Aside form the fact that she misunderstood you things have changed since sulz wrote last night. This is a subject being discussed in another thread(s) too. There have been some changes made which have primarily affected images and the text rich editor. One of these is focused on the delete problem when using the text rich editor. We have been asked to send in a feedback if this persists.
