Still confused – sorry! Something funny happened during my original registration.
When I put in my legitimate gmail address — it stopped me and asked — is this you? I clicked on that, as indicated — then could not tell what was happening behind the scenes. I thought it wouldn’t take my email ————
so — I made up one that doesn’t exist — (email visible only to moderators and staff).Later I went to my gmail account — and there was my registration verification — which I clicked on — but when I went there — it had garbled my chosen name by putting the words ‘dotcom’ in the middle of it.
Do I need to register completely the one I want —
dreamingiam.com ——
before I can get rid of the other one??
It seems like there are gremlins inside my dashboard that keep reappearing – the fake email still appears, etc. Two different pages come up under ———-
dreamingiam.wordpress.com
and
dreamingiamdotcom.wordpress.comWhat is the simplest way out of this maze, please? Can we kill what’s there and start over????

I am registered now under the name I originally chose.
Please DELETE the domain listed as ——–
dreamingiamdotcom.wordpress.comThank you!!

It looks like dreamingiam.com is mapped to dreamingiamdotcom.wordpress.com. If we delete dreamingiamdotcom.wordpress.com, this will affect your Domain Registration and Mapping upgrade.
When you map a custom domain to your free, *.wordpress.com URL, no one but you will ever be able to see the underlying URL. However, this underlying URL must exist in order for the mapping to work:
