Why is it so difficult to upload pictures and video??

This site is terrible. I try to upload a picture stored in my computer for my NEW POST and it stays on UPLOADING PICTURE forever. It seems I can never upload any pictures. It happens to me all the time. If I try and upload a video and hit the UPLOAD VIDEO option, absolutely NOTHING happens.
Today I tried to upload a picture and it stays trying to upload the picture for eternity. Then I have to restart my computer and try again and again and again.
Later, when the picture finally uploaded and I pressed PUBLISH, my blog never actually published. If I do it again my “followers” keep on receiving e-mails that I have “posted a new blog” even though I haven’t because for some reason it didn’t go through.
What do I do?? This whole thing is a mess!
