Why is it so hard to leave comments on other people’s blogs

    There is nothing wrong with my blog, but when I try to leave comments on other peoples either I can’t leave one at all, the comment sections to leave a comment doesn’t come up, or I am told that I can’t do it. What is happening?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Leanne, Have you tried logging out of WordPress.com, deleting your browser cache and cookies (which will also log you out of any site where you are logged in) and then logging back in?

    If that doesn’t solve the issue, please share links to WordPress.com blogs where you’ve had this problem? That would help.

    Also let us know what device, browser and OS you used when this happened.

    I’ve done all that, and I’m not the only one having this problem. I said something on my blog the other day and so many people are having issues.

    I can’t leave you links to the blogs because it would be around 100. Even today I tried leaving a comment on a blog, I tried 5 times before giving up. Then had to do it in the reader. Even then I had to attempt it twice.

    I’m using my laptop, Windows 11 and Chrome. I will not be using another browser.

    Thanks for providing that info and also confirming that you’ve taken those steps.

    If those 100 sites are using block comments, rather than plain text, that may be the source of the issue based on other forum posts. However, there’s no way to confirm that without knowing where you’re encountering this issue. You don’t need to list all 100 sites, just 3 or 4.

    Hello! If you could share a link to a couple of the sites you’ve seen this problem on, that would certainly help (h/t @justjennifer), especially for the sites where you don’t see the comment editor at all.

    Beyond that, could you share some other details about the exact behavior that you are seeing? For example, are there any specific error messages that show up when you try to leave comments?
