Why is my blog invisible to Google searches?
-
The blog is several years old, shows up on other search engines when I search ‘site:notepadonlife.wordpress.com’ and I have ticked the site indexing box in settings. Before I dig deeper as to the cause, I just wondered if those of you who know about these things can see anything on the homepage that might be a turn-off where Google are concerned?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Wow, I do not see any reason that would be the case. You appear to be doing everything right, but even your Tumblr shows on Google, just not the blog. This is very weird: you didn’t piss off Larry Page, did you?
Have you tried Google Webmaster tools? The might help you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-webmaster-tools

Maybe it’s this:
Go to settings —> reading –> Site Visibility —> Allow search engines to index this site. -

Shows your robots.txt file to be good – are you using any forward & mask for a custom domain name?

Thanks for your help, folks. Auxclass, I don’t even know what “forward & mask for a custom domain name” means, so I’m guessing my answer is “no” :-). Lavinweb, I did tick that box.

Postscript: Many a true word, raincoaster? I was just mulling over my blog’s glorious isolation from Google today when I remembered this…
Maybe I have indeed upset Mr Page. Might not be any point migrating the blog to Blogger after all…
