I’m new to wordpress and want people to get to my published post when I give them my blog URL. Instead, I think readers may find “protected blog, you must log in to…” Why? I don’t want only wordpress members to be able to read my blog.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    pbwight,
The site linked to your name is not a WordPress.com blog.
Please provide a link to your wp.COM blog starting with http://

    Hi,

Are you referring to http://pennywight.wordpress.com/ ? It’s not a protected blog and never has been.

PS if you’re wondering why it’s slow to load sometimes, it’s because of the Platial map in your sidebar.

Oops! Thanks! I’ll try to provide the correct link to my wp.com blog.
And, no, I’m not referring to http://pennywight.wordpress.com Now I want to see who that penny wight is!

Wrong again, I am. So, I’ll start all over. I wondered why I saw “penny.wight.wordpress.com” instead of pennywight.wordpress.com (no “.” after penny). Now I wonder if “penny.wight.wordpress.com” is also someone on wordpress and if I’ve directed friends to that site. Oh dear… new learning on the computer is always such fun! Thanks for your patience!

OK. Both: pennywight and penny.wight are my blog. When you go to penny.wight.wordpress.com you get the “this site is protected…log in” message. When you go to pennywight.wordpress.com you get to my blog. I’m confused. Why do I have both?

You must have signed up for both!
If you have directed your friends to the wrong blog, then perhaps you should unprotect it and give them a link to your “real” blog.
