Why is my blog published, without me posting or clicking to publish?

  Hello Support team1 I have been trying my best to get used to navigate around this site and my new blog. I have not yet posted anything; I have chosen my theme; and would like to post stuff at a later date. I would like to know why my blog site is published and able to be seen by web users. I clicked on the activation key to activate the theme, but I’d like to know by clicking on this does it automatically publish. I thought I’d have to press a publish button for this to happen.
  I have had to log out as this has been seemingly complicated and I have become increasingly annoyed at this. I must be missing something…. Please, could you guide/ advise what I must do.

  I have been impressed with all that’s to offer on this site and would like to carry on with this as people have told me alot about this site. I am new to blogging and appreciate your help and patience.
