Why is my blog ‘tighter’ ?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi, I’ve only recently noticed that my blog is now smaller and tighter. If we compare http://leetgamer.wordpress.com/ and http://monwarh.wordpress.com/ you will see that my blog looks a bit smaller. I noticed that this occured when I added a polldaddy poll in a text widget using the smallcode. I tried removing the poll but it looks the same.

    Any suggestions ?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Can’t anyone help ?

    Those two blogs are using two different themes.

    That’s cause I changed the theme. Anyways my point is that my blog’s page always seems smaller. I mean, even the WordPress bar on top of the screen is smaller than it used to be when I’m navigating my blog, but when I’m on the forum, or on any other blog, the wordpress bar is normal.

    @leetgamer

    Besides this being a desperate attempt to attract traffic, there is nothing wrong with your blog.

    There is nothing wrong with it to YOU. But there is to ME. My wordpress bar you see on top of the page is way smaller than it used to be. And I don’t know why ! How can you accuse me of trying to get traffic ? I’m asking for help ! Is it too much to ask ?

    Furthermore, when I use some themes, the blog page is tighter than it’s supposed to be, meaning that the background gaps from left to right are bigger. I’ve changed the theme cause it’s the only one that looks decent, and doesn’t make the blog smaller.

    If we can’t see the two side by side, how are we to help?

    @leetgamer

    navbar:
    Ok, I just noticed that the WordPress navbar at the top IS a bit narrower when viewing my own blog versus other blogs or my own dashboard, BUT it only occurs when in Firefox, and only when using one of my computers, so THAT is probably a browser and screen resolution issue. In any case, your blog WILL look slightly different using different computers and browsers and browser versions, not much you can do about that.

    themes:
    Each theme is different and has different widths and also different default fonts, which is why the same blog content will appear differently on different blogs. You just have to choose the one you prefer. There’s not much you can do about that either. Unless you go for the CSS Upgrade and start tweaking your blogs design, but even then there’s only so much you can do.

    Hope this was a bit more helpful than before?

    Yes wpvstp, that was a bit more helpful :>

    However, I always used firefox and it worked perfectly fine. Now I don’t know what’s happening :S

    Indeed, I’ve checked my blog on internet explorer, and it is actually normal. The wordpress bar is normal, text is normal and everything but in firefox its all smaller now :S

    Sorry for posting again if it’s ‘dead’, however, I’ve downgraded firefox to 2.0 and it’s working for me again.
