Why is my CSS not rendering properly?

I don’t understand completely: is this issue of the CSS not loading properly over this particular network isolated to only MY WordPress blog, or does it affect others as well? Is there any way to test this?

As identified this issue wouldn’t be isolated to only your WordPress blog, or even only WordPress.com. In theory a number of resources could have failed to load if they were being requested through that particular network. But it’s not in respect to WordPress’s system, it’s just in respect to whoever is on their phone using that data connection.

The traceroutes I ran to identify the issue would be the only way to test it from an end users perspective. Systems administrators with access to that data network would need to test it further. And even though I could identify those Telia networks as the location of the issue, I can only speculate as to the true cause.

Please understand that nothing has gone wrong with the hosting of your CSS. If it was, the CSS wouldn’t load properly on any device. We tested your issue on multiple devices and the majority of them loaded the CSS perfectly. Under most conditions, your site is loading completely as expected for your readers.

This error is roughly equivalent to a user losing internet access. If my internet goes down, your site is still hosted correctly but I can’t read it correctly. Similarly, this connection is broken on Virgin Mobile/Sprint, your site is still hosted correctly but my phone couldn’t read it correctly.

I’m happy to report the issue to Virgin Mobile.

    Best,

    -Alex G.

I see. Thank you for testing it thoroughly. It is reassuring to know that it displays properly for the most part.

So, just to verify, there is not a problem specifically with my CSS or WordPress site? I just want to make sure my blog is not “broken.” :-)

Other than reporting the issue to Virgin Mobile, there is nothing else that can be done at this point, correct?

And many thank yous for agreeing to contact them. Will you please keep in touch with me with regard to the issue and Virgin Mobile’s response?

    Thanks so much, Alex!

    Hi there,

I’ve sent a request to look into the matter with Virgin Mobile:

The request included a link to this thread so they could see all my screenshots, etc. I’ll let you know if they reply to me.

Correct, your CSS is setup correctly and nothing is broken with your site.

Other than reporting the issue to Virgin Mobile, there is nothing else that can be done at this point, correct?

Sadly, this is correct. I wish I could fix it for you, but my superpowers are limited here. :)

I’ll let you know what Virgin has to say about it.

    Best,

    -Alex G.
