Why is my custom domain not working?

    We were just reissued our domain that was cancelled (see https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-is-my-custom-domain-no-longer-workingbeen-deleted?replies=1 for more details) but when I put it as my primary domain it kept telling me that I needed to change the DNS. This is the free domain we got with our upgrade so we should need to change any DNS, correct? I would really appreciate your assistance with this matter as this is a live blog already being seen by clients.

    I sincerely apologize for the trouble over the last week.

    When a domain is returned, our domain provider normally resets the DNS to allow it to work as expected on WordPress.com without any additional action by you or by us. In this case, that failed to happen. I’m investigating the cause of this breakdown in the process to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else in this situation.

    I have manually updated the records for your domain to point back to WordPress.com, verified the settings via a third-party tool ( http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/vaconfidentialblog.com ) and updated your primary domain for you.

    You may need to clear your browser’s cache if you receive an error message, though that shouldn’t last very long without any action on your part in either case.
